- NVDA faces profit-taking: Nvidia fell with other major technology shares as U.S. markets pulled back from recent records.
- AI spending remains the core catalyst: Nvidia is involved in a proposed $500 billion AI infrastructure funding initiative with major financial firms.
- $220–225 is the near-term battleground: Holding this area could stabilize the stock, while renewed selling would expose lower support.
NVIDIA Fundamental Analysis
Nvidia remains at the center of the artificial-intelligence investment cycle, but its shares are facing short-term pressure as investors reassess high technology valuations. U.S. markets closed lower on Monday, with Nvidia falling 2.9%, while semiconductor shares broadly weakened. The move came as investors became more cautious about the combination of elevated valuations, geopolitical uncertainty and higher oil prices.
The longer-term Nvidia story, however, remains closely connected to the enormous capital spending plans of major technology companies. Nvidia has announced partnerships with financial firms including Apollo Global Management and Blackstone around a potential $500 billion AI infrastructure fund. The initiative underlines how quickly AI-related investment is expanding beyond individual technology companies and into large-scale financing structures.
That provides an important fundamental cushion for Nvidia. Demand for advanced processors, networking equipment and AI infrastructure remains a major growth theme. Investors are increasingly trying to determine whether the extraordinary AI spending cycle can translate into sustainable revenue and earnings growth at a pace capable of supporting current valuations.
The broader earnings backdrop remains supportive. J.P. Morgan raised its 2026 S&P 500 target to 8,000, citing stronger corporate earnings and confidence in AI-driven revenue growth. The bank also noted that 85.1% of reporting S&P 500 companies had exceeded earnings expectations during the latest reporting season.
However, Nvidia's valuation means expectations are extremely high. Any slowdown in AI spending, weaker semiconductor demand or evidence that customers are becoming more cautious could trigger aggressive profit-taking.
NVIDIA Technical Analysis

NVDA's immediate technical challenge is recovering from Monday's decline. The stock's recent weakness means the $220–225 region becomes important for determining whether the latest move represents normal consolidation or the beginning of a deeper correction.
A successful rebound through $225 would put the recent highs back into focus and could encourage buyers to target $230. A decisive break above that area would reinforce the broader bullish structure and suggest that the AI-led rally remains intact.
On the downside, failure to hold the $220 region would increase the probability of a move toward $215, followed by the $205–210 zone. Those levels become particularly important if weakness spreads across the broader semiconductor sector.
The technical setup is therefore constructive on a medium-term basis but less convincing in the immediate term. Nvidia's fundamentals remain powerful, yet the stock needs to absorb profit-taking and prove that buyers are willing to defend the latest support zone.
