Gold Fundamental Analysis
Gold is strengthening again as investors balance weaker U.S. labor-market data against renewed geopolitical and inflation concerns. Spot gold climbed approximately 0.5% to $4,409.81 per ounce on Tuesday, according to Reuters, extending a recovery that has pushed the metal to a more than two-month high.
The latest move has several drivers. First, weaker U.S. employment data has reduced confidence in a more aggressive Federal Reserve policy stance. The unexpected loss of 23,000 jobs in July has made the U.S. economic outlook less straightforward and increased attention on upcoming inflation data.
Second, geopolitical uncertainty is supporting gold's traditional safe-haven appeal. Negotiations between the United States and Iran remain uncertain, while the possibility of continued disruption around the Strait of Hormuz is keeping energy markets volatile. That matters for gold because oil-price increases can feed into inflation expectations while simultaneously increasing demand for defensive assets.
The biggest near-term test will be U.S. CPI. If inflation comes in softer than expected, markets could increase expectations for easier Federal Reserve policy, potentially weakening the dollar and Treasury yields while providing additional support to gold.
A hotter inflation reading would create the opposite risk. Higher yields and a stronger dollar could encourage investors to take profits after gold's powerful recovery.
Gold Technical Analysis

Gold has established a clear short-term bullish structure after moving above the $4,400 area. The metal's ability to hold above this psychological level is now important because it can transform former resistance into near-term support.
A sustained break above $4,420–4,450 would strengthen the bullish continuation setup and could bring the $4,500 psychological level into focus. Above $4,500, traders would begin looking toward the next major resistance zones established by previous price extremes.
On the downside, $4,350 is the first area to monitor. A daily close below that level would indicate that momentum is fading, while a deeper move beneath $4,300 would provide a stronger warning that the recent rally is entering a corrective phase.
For now, the fundamental and technical signals are aligned moderately in favor of buyers. The biggest threat to that setup is a hotter U.S. inflation report that pushes yields and the dollar higher.
