Nebius (NBIS): Stock Surges as AI Revenue Explodes and Customer Commitments Grow

By Saqib Iqbal2 min read
  • NBIS is surging: Nebius shares jumped sharply after reporting explosive second-quarter AI-cloud growth.
  • Revenue increased 454%: The company reported Q2 revenue of roughly $148 million as demand for AI computing accelerated.
  • $200 is the key psychological level: Holding the post-earnings breakout could open the door toward new highs.

NBIS Fundamental Analysis

Nebius has become one of the most closely watched AI infrastructure stocks after reporting extraordinary second-quarter growth on August 12.

The company reported second-quarter revenue of approximately $148 million, representing a 454% year-over-year increase. The result reflects rapidly expanding demand for AI computing capacity as companies compete for access to data-center infrastructure.

The most significant part of the story is not simply the quarterly revenue number. Nebius has accumulated enormous customer commitments as major technology companies seek additional AI computing capacity.

The company has reportedly secured multiple multibillion-dollar contracts, while customer commitments have reached roughly $40 billion. That gives investors visibility into potential future revenue but also creates a major execution challenge.

Nebius needs to build physical infrastructure quickly enough to satisfy that demand.

This is where the bullish and bearish arguments collide.

The bullish case is straightforward: AI demand is growing faster than available computing capacity, allowing infrastructure providers to command substantial prices and secure long-term contracts.

The risk is capital intensity. Building data centers and acquiring high-end computing hardware requires enormous investment. Nebius reportedly spent more than $8 billion on infrastructure during the first half of 2026, meaning revenue growth must eventually translate into stronger cash generation.

The stock has also attracted attention from prominent investors taking opposing positions, highlighting how divided the market has become over AI valuations.

For now, the earnings report has strengthened the fundamental growth story dramatically. The bigger question is whether the stock can maintain its momentum after such a large repricing.

NBIS Technical Analysis

Nebius (NBIS) has undergone a major technical reset following its August 12 earnings breakout. The stock surged roughly 28%–34% after the company reported Q2 revenue of about $582.3 million, up 454% year over year, and adjusted EBITDA of $236.2 million.

The first major level to watch now is $250. Holding above this area would indicate that the post-earnings breakout is being accepted by the market rather than immediately reversed.

Above $250, the next resistance zone is around $275–$280. A sustained move through that area would establish a fresh breakout and could put $300 into focus as the next major psychological target.

The downside setup is equally important because NBIS has become extremely volatile.

The first support zone is around $230–$235, close to the initial post-earnings consolidation area. If buyers defend this region, the stock could build a new base before attempting another move higher.

Below that, $215–$220 becomes the next important support. A deeper retracement toward $195–$200 would still leave the broader breakout structure intact, provided buyers eventually return around that former resistance zone.
