Hedera (HBAR): Token Holds Near $0.067 as ETF Setback Tests Recovery

By Saqib Iqbal2 min read

Hedera is facing a fresh test after Grayscale withdrew its proposed spot HBAR ETF filing, removing one of the more closely watched institutional catalysts for the token. HBAR is trading around $0.067, with $0.07 acting as the key pivot: reclaiming it would improve the recovery structure, while losing $0.066 could expose deeper support.

Hedera Fundamental Analysis

Hedera is facing a fresh test after Grayscale withdrew its proposed spot HBAR ETF filing, removing one of the more closely watched institutional catalysts for the token.

The withdrawal was part of a broader decision involving several altcoin ETF filings and has increased short-term uncertainty around institutional demand for HBAR. The development came after the token had already been struggling to maintain its recovery from earlier lows.

Despite the setback, Hedera's broader ecosystem continues to develop.

A new integrated NFT marketplace launched on the network on August 11, adding another application layer to the ecosystem. Hedera is also continuing to position itself around enterprise blockchain applications, tokenization and institutional financial infrastructure.

That creates an important distinction between the short-term token price and the longer-term network story.

The ETF withdrawal is negative for immediate market sentiment because it removes a potential source of institutional demand. But it does not directly change the underlying functionality of the Hedera network.

Regulation remains another important variable. The broader crypto market is watching developments surrounding U.S. digital-asset legislation, particularly the proposed CLARITY Act. Greater regulatory clarity could eventually benefit blockchain projects with established enterprise relationships.

For HBAR, however, the immediate market focus is likely to remain on whether buyers can absorb the selling pressure caused by the ETF development.

The wider crypto market is also cautious ahead of U.S. inflation data. If softer inflation increases expectations for easier monetary policy, speculative assets could receive a liquidity boost. A hotter reading could strengthen the dollar and put additional pressure on altcoins.

The fundamental picture is therefore mixed: institutional ETF momentum has weakened, but Hedera's network-development story remains active.

Hedera Technical Analysis

HBAR is trading close to $0.067, with the token currently sitting near an important support area. Recent technical analysis places the major short-term floor around $0.066-0.070.

The first upside level is $0.070. A sustained move above $0.070 would improve the immediate structure and could allow HBAR to challenge $0.074-0.075.

A breakout through $0.075 would strengthen the recovery setup and could put $0.081-0.085 into focus.

The downside scenario becomes more important below $0.066. A confirmed breakdown could invalidate the current stabilization pattern and expose the $0.062-0.063 area.

Longer-term moving averages remain a concern. HBAR has been trading below its major long-term averages, meaning the broader trend has not yet turned bullish. A genuine recovery would require the token to establish a sequence of higher highs and higher lows rather than simply bounce from support.

The technical structure is therefore neutral-to-bearish below $0.075, with $0.066 acting as the main downside line.

For bulls, the immediate objective is simple: defend $0.066-0.070 and reclaim $0.075. Until that happens, the ETF setback leaves HBAR vulnerable to another test of its recent lows.
