EUR/USD traded at 1.1529 on Friday, up slightly on the day, as the pair climbed steadily through the afternoon session. The pair opened near Thursday's close of 1.1524 and spent much of the morning in a choppy range between 1.1518 and 1.1526, with no clear directional bias through the European session.

The move higher gathered pace after 13:30 GMT, when the pair broke above the day's earlier range and pushed toward a fresh session high near 1.1530. The advance came as broad dollar softness took hold into the New York close, lifting most major currency pairs against the greenback.

With Friday's gain, 1.1524 now marks the first level of support, roughly in line with Thursday's settlement price. A slip back below that level would suggest the afternoon breakout has faded, while a push through 1.1530 would put the pair within range of the 1.1540 area last tested earlier in the week.

The session's price action, a quiet range followed by a decisive afternoon breakout, is a pattern that has repeated across several sessions this week. With no major scheduled data releases immediately ahead, traders will likely watch whether the dollar's late-session weakness persists into the new week or whether the pair reverts back into its recent range.
