Bitcoin Holds Near $64,800 as Bulls Defend the $64,300 Pivot

Bitcoin price today

Bitcoin traded at $64,783 on Friday, up 0.82% on the day, as buyers stepped back in after an early dip toward $64,100. The session opened at $64,266 and swung as low as $64,103 before a steady afternoon advance carried price to an intraday high near $64,910, just short of the $65,000 level that has capped rallies in recent sessions.

The move higher builds on Thursday's close of $64,256, leaving Bitcoin with a modest gain heading into the weekend. Momentum picked up noticeably in the early afternoon, when price broke out of a tight midday range and pushed steadily higher into the close, with dip-buying visible on almost every pullback along the way.

For now, $64,300 is acting as the first line of support, roughly matching the prior session's close, while the $64,900 to $65,000 zone remains the level buyers need to clear to open the door to fresh highs. A clean break above $65,000 would mark a shift back toward the week's range highs, while a slip back under $64,100 would put the session low back in focus and could invite a deeper pullback.

Trading volume stayed steady through the session, with no single sharp spike, suggesting the advance was driven by a gradual accumulation of buy orders rather than a single large catalyst. With no major scheduled events overnight, traders are likely to keep a close eye on this range to gauge whether the broader uptrend that has carried Bitcoin through the week still has room to run, or whether the market needs to consolidate before attempting its next leg higher.
