Dogecoin Forecast: DOGE Compressed at 0.0700 as ETFs Bleed

By Saqib Iqbal2 min read
  • Dogecoin trades at 0.069991, down 0.29% on the day and back at the midpoint of its August range.
  • US spot Dogecoin funds have run negative, shedding 8.05 million DOGE — about $565,000 — in a single session on 13 August, alongside several zero-flow days.
  • Four moving averages sit inside 0.0014 of each other; 0.070238 above and 0.069500 below are the walls of the coil.

Fundamental Analysis: Dogecoin

The exchange-traded fund story has not delivered what holders hoped. US spot Dogecoin products have posted repeated sessions with no net creations at all, and on 13 August they shed 8.05 million DOGE, worth roughly $565,000. For an asset whose investment case now leans heavily on regulated access broadening the buyer base, flat-to-negative flows are the most important number on the tape.

The counterweight is that the sums involved are small in both directions. A $565,000 outflow is immaterial against Dogecoin's market capitalisation, so the flows are better read as a sentiment gauge than a supply-demand force. Wider crypto fund flows have been similarly mixed, with Bitcoin products also seeing redemptions in the same week, which suggests a general cooling rather than anything specific to this asset.

That leaves Dogecoin without an independent driver. It has no protocol upgrade pending, no revenue to reprice and no institutional accumulation story that the flow data supports. In practice it trades as a high-beta expression of retail risk appetite, which is why it has spent the last week compressing rather than trending — nobody has a reason to be aggressive in either direction.

The move that set the range was the 12 August spike to 0.073000, which reversed within two four-hour bars and carried price down to 0.068800. Since then the market has oscillated in an ever-tighter band, closing the latest bar at 0.069994. The moving averages have converged remarkably: 0.070060, 0.070078 and 0.070238 are within two hundredths of a cent of each other, with 0.071366 sloping down above them.

Resistance is that 0.070060–0.070238 cluster, then 0.071366 and the 0.073000 spike high. Support is 0.069500, then the 0.068800 low. A four-hour close below 0.068800 breaks the August range floor and invalidates the consolidation read; a close above 0.071366 does the same in the other direction.
