Fundamental Analysis: Cardano
The move that lifted Cardano off its August base came with on-chain confirmation rather than in isolation. Daily transactions rose to roughly 32,800 from about 24,700 the previous day and around 16,700 two days before that, and active addresses followed a similar path, climbing from approximately 13,800 to nearly 23,000 and then to a comparable figure. When both metrics move together, the price action is at least being accompanied by usage rather than driven purely by positioning.
The wider crypto backdrop supplied the fuel. Bitcoin recovered from below $64,000 early in the month to roughly $77,000 by 21 August, and spot ETF flows turned strongly positive, with $517m on 19 August and $606m on 20 August into bitcoin funds alongside $221m into ether products. Capital arriving at the top of the market has historically had to pass through the majors before it reaches assets of this size.
The constraint is that it has not yet done so at scale. Bitcoin dominance held at 59.8%, barely changed, and the widely watched altcoin season index fell to 33 from 51 the previous week. Open interest in Cardano actually declined to around $283m while price rose, which points to spot accumulation rather than leverage. That is a healthier composition, but it also means the move lacks the fuel that a leveraged bid provides.
Technical Analysis: Cardano

The base is unusually clean. Price spent 13 to 19 August compressed between roughly 0.178 and 0.182, then broke sharply higher on 20 August and spiked to 0.2570 on 22 August before rejecting. The days since have been a controlled pullback into the 0.211 area, and price has now slipped back beneath the fastest moving average at 0.21659 while remaining above the three slower ones.
Resistance is 0.21659 first, then the 0.2300 congestion that formed after the spike, with the 0.2570 high as the extreme. Support is 0.20931, then 0.20021. A close below 0.19107 would invalidate the breakout entirely, since that would return price to the base it left on 20 August.
