Binance User Statistics 2026: How Many Users?

By Shahwaiz Khan6 min read

Binance officially says it serves more than 300 million retail users in 2026. A contemporaneous report published for Binance's ninth anniversary on 14 July put the total at more than 323 million registered users across 100+ countries. Those two figures are not necessarily contradictory: the corporate post uses a rounded threshold, while the news report gives a more precise registered-account estimate.

Updated 23 July 2026. The most important caveat is that Binance does not publish a current monthly-active-user count, so “registered users” should not be read as “people who traded this month.”

Binance users in 2026: the verified answer

ClaimCurrent figureMeasureSource and dateHow to read it
Official current audience300M+Retail usersBinance, 14 Jul 2026First-party, deliberately rounded
Current precise estimate323M+Registered usersInvezz via TradingView, 14 Jul 2026Current secondary reporting, not an audited disclosure

The most defensible one-line answer is therefore: Binance has at least 300 million retail users, and current reporting places registered accounts above 323 million. If a source gives a precise “active users” number for 2026 without a date and methodology, treat it cautiously.

How fast is Binance's user base growing?

Binance said registered retail users grew by roughly 7% in the first half of 2026. It also reported that institutional users grew 9% over the same period. A community article published in December 2025 reported that Binance had crossed 300 million registered users, up by 30 million over the prior 12 months.

MilestoneReported usersChangeWhat is comparable?
December 2025300M registered users+30M over 12 monthsRegistered-account milestone
H1 2026300M+ retail usersAbout +7%First-party growth rate, rounded base
14 July 2026323M+ registered usersAbout +23M vs. Dec milestoneSecondary precise report

Using the rounded 300 million December milestone and the secondary 323 million July figure, the implied increase is approximately 7.7%. That is consistent with Binance's separate statement that registered retail users grew about 7% during H1, but it is only a cross-check—not an independently audited reconstruction.

Registered users are not the same as active users

This distinction is the biggest weakness in most Binance statistics pages. A registered user is an account created at some point. A verified user has completed a defined identity or compliance step. An active user has used the product within a stated period, such as a day or month. A transacting user has completed a trade or another financial transaction during that period.

One person may also have interacted with more than one exchange, and a registered-account total can include dormant accounts. Without a company definition and observation window, these labels cannot be swapped. Binance's 2026 corporate post describes retail users and user growth, but it does not disclose a monthly-active-user number. That means a valid comparison with another exchange must match the metric, date, geography, and reporting window—not just line up two large numbers.

Why the “43% of all crypto holders” claim is unreliable

Several current results divide Binance's reported 323 million accounts by an estimate of 741 million crypto owners worldwide and conclude that roughly 43% of crypto holders use Binance. The arithmetic is correct; the interpretation is not robust.

The numerator and denominator come from different measurement systems and dates. Registered exchange accounts are not unique active people, crypto-ownership estimates are modelled across markets, and the same person can hold accounts at several exchanges. The calculation can be useful as a rough scale illustration, but it should not be presented as Binance's verified share of global crypto owners.

How many Binance users are in each country?

Binance says it reaches more than 100 countries, but it does not publish a current, complete 2026 table of registered or active users by country. Search-demand pages often fill this gap with web-traffic shares. Traffic data can show where visits appear to originate; it cannot reveal how many verified customers live in a country.

A credible country ranking would need a common date, a user definition, treatment of restricted jurisdictions, and a source that distinguishes residents from visits. Until Binance publishes that dataset, any “users by country” table should be labelled as a traffic estimate—not customer accounts.

Does scale make Binance the largest crypto exchange?

Binance is widely described as the largest crypto exchange by trading volume and reported user count. Its scale is also visible in Binance's reported $156.4 trillion of cumulative trading volume across products by July 2026, up from $145 trillion at the end of 2025. But volume, assets on platform, registered accounts, and active traders measure different things.

For investors, scale can support liquidity and product breadth, yet it does not remove platform, regulatory, custody, or market risk. Compare exchanges using the same metric and period, check whether a service is permitted in your jurisdiction, and do not treat a large user count as a guarantee of safety.

That figure comes from dividing two estimates with different definitions. It should be treated as a rough scale comparison, not a verified market-share statistic.

Methodology & sources

We reviewed Google's leading results and related questions on 23 July 2026, then traced headline figures to their dated sources. We prioritised first-party disclosure, preserved each source's terminology, and used secondary reporting only where it added a more precise current estimate. We excluded undated active-user claims, country tables based only on web traffic, and the 43% market-share interpretation from our headline.
