Chainlink 4-hour chart showing LINK trending from an $8.10 base to $10.85 above stacked moving averages

Chainlink Forecast: LINK at 10.45 After Wyoming Deal

By Saqib Iqbal2 min read
  • LINK trades at $10.4562, down 0.85% over 24 hours after tagging $10.85, its best level of the month.
  • A US state government moved live stablecoin infrastructure onto Chainlink's cross-chain protocol this week.
  • $9.81 is the level that decides whether the August trend stays intact.

The catalyst is unusually concrete for this sector. On 18 August, Wyoming's Stable Token Commission migrated its Frontier Stable Token from one interoperability protocol to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, citing superior security for public-sector use after a review. It is the first time a US government entity has moved blockchain infrastructure on security grounds, which matters more as a precedent than as a volume number.

That sits on top of a token model that has been quietly changing. The Chainlink Reserve has been buying tokens back using protocol revenue, which turns network usage into a recurring bid rather than a narrative. Combined with continued CCIP adoption across protocols and data feeds, the demand side of the story now has a mechanism behind it.

The caution is positioning rather than fundamentals. Derivatives open interest has climbed to roughly 29m tokens, above pre-crash levels from October 2025, with funding rates positive - meaning the trade is crowded and long. That amplifies moves in both directions, and it is worth noting the broader tape is not helping: spot bitcoin funds saw their largest outflow in six weeks on 17 August.

The move began on 11 August from a flat base around $8.10, and it has been one of the cleanest trends in the sector since. Price has not closed beneath the fast average once during the advance, and the averages are stacked in textbook order at $9.8115, $9.3872, $9.0185 and $8.6972, each well clear of the one below it.

Resistance is the $10.85 wick high, then the round $11.00 above it. Support is the $9.8115 fast average, then $9.50 and the $9.3872 average beneath that. Given how extended price is from the $8.6972 long-term average, a four-hour close under $9.81 would be the first genuine warning that the August trend is finished.
